Startup: parking.ch

Who hasn't had the intention of visiting an unknown and still strange place in their car? Be it for hiking, biking, swimming or even skiing or any other reason such as sightseeing. At the same time, are you thinking about parking and the route and road to get there?

That is exactly the idea of our startup www.parking.ch. On the one hand, our homepage is about parking your car in an unknown location. On the other hand, about the P+Rail parking at the station in the train station. And thirdly, about the electric e-charging of your electric vehicle. We have implemented these three topics on our homepage and listed them in the black bar.

No more time-consuming searches for a street parking space or a parking garage in a city. On our parking.ch homepage, as a non-local driver, after entering your destination, you will see a selection of the nearest parking options. This is made possible by the dominant search bar in the black bar with the three icons in black and white. The current weather now appears on our homepage. Click on the weather symbol and on the next page the location where today's and tomorrow's weather awaits you.

Enter the address/location you are looking for in the search bar and the blue text suggestions will appear to help you select where exactly you want to go. The map shows you the location with the blue round P-icons for parking, differentiated from the street parking spaces or parking garages. The blue P with the roof stands for a parking garage - the one without a roof stands for street parking. The route planner helps you reach your destination comfortably from far away or even from very close distance. The red dashed line shows you the route and the distance to the selected destination.

After clicking on the blue P-icon parking garage or street parking, you will see information in the white window such as address, number of parking spaces, prices, opening times, entrance height, possibly women's parking spaces, disabled parking spaces, electric filling stations, possible parking space reservations, payment options, etc. And in cities where there is a parking guidance system is set up, of course the exact real-time occupancy with the number of parking spaces currently still available. You can always easily choose the route to your destination by car using our route planner! Have a good trip!

If you are looking for an electric charging station, click on the symbol with the plug icon and simply enter the location in Switzerland in the search bar. Green of the plug symbols show currently free and is for charging with the necessary information. Green means free, red means busy and gray means the e-loading stations are currently in progress.

The important thing is: Allow your current location to be listed on your mobile so that it always shows where you are now. This means that you can immediately see where you can park next, even on your mobile.

We are currently working on communicating parking garages without and with a parking guidance system and also without information about their occupancy with free or occupied parking spaces on our homepage. The aim is to prevent cars from driving around pointlessly and to optimize traffic. And thus make the search for a parking garage or street parking space more efficient and organized, especially in cities. This project is now in development with IT software engineers to make driving more environmentally friendly.

Important features for our startup are:

Information about women's parking spaces. These are intended to help women enjoy their night out or shopping safely. Thanks to video surveillance in the parking garages, you can choose the length of time you park without worry.
Information about disabled parking spaces. Here, too, we want to provide information about where disabled spaces are available so that people with disabilities can find their parking space and park safely.
Information about existing e-charging stations. Charging stations with reservations will increasingly become the focus of electric car owners in the future. Here too, we want to be a service provider and inform motorists about the existing e-charging stations in the parking garages and car parks.
Information about possible parking reservations. This will be an increasingly important point of leisure or outlet. Safe planning in the future will also include the possibility of parking space reservations.
And last but not least: the route planner. With this you can use your mobile device/cell phone to find your location directly to the selected parking garage/parking lot.
And it’s even easier with our planned “next-parking” app. On your mobile phone, this always shows you your current location and the blue P icons where you can find the next parking space. Mobility and parking couldn't be easier, more convenient and more direct!
