At the foot of the Matterhorn lies Zermatt, whose tourism development is closely linked to arguably the most famous mountain in the world. The car-free resort has retained its typical character and offers almost unlimited excursion options.

The Matterhorn and Switzerland are inextricably linked. The pyramid-shaped giant, which is very difficult to climb, is considered the most photographed mountain in the world. Opposite it lies the Klein Matterhorn, accessible by cable car.

Whether as a leisurely excursion or an alpine adventure in the sweat of your brow, the mountains of Zermatt are fascinating. Alpinists and day-trippers cannot escape the mystical mountain world. The hike to the legendary Hörnli Hut at the foot of the Matterhorn is a tempting experience. Standing in the village and on the panoramic peaks, you're so fascinated that you forget to photograph the highest mountains in the Alps.

The ski area comprises 54 cable cars and lifts and 360 kilometers of slopes. The "Matterhorn Glacier Paradise" area is the largest and highest summer ski resort in Europe. Numerous national ski teams train here in the summer.

Zermatt is a car-free village. If you arrive by car, you can park your vehicle in a private or public parking lot in Täsch. From Täsch, you can take a taxi or the shuttle train to Zermatt, which runs every 20 minutes. Täsch offers 2,100 covered parking spaces with 131 electric charging stations, as well as 1,000 private parking spaces.
