Chargemap statistics show
The electric platform Chargemap reveals the ranking of the most popular e-car charging providers in Europe based on user experiences. The most important criteria are reliability and loading speed. Blick tells you who is leading the ranking in Switzerland.
The international charging platform Chargemap has created a ranking of charging providers per country based on user reviews from last year. In total, Chargemap 2024 collected over 460,000 reviews for seven countries. These include Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
When looking at the statistics, it is noticeable that in each country a different provider is at the top of the satisfaction scale: while in Spain, for example, the provider Powerdot is at the top of the list, in Italy it is the French charging provider Electra. In France, however, it is not Electra that is at the forefront, but the Supercharger from US electric car pioneer Tesla.
Supercharger most popular
Tesla's superchargers are generally popular: American charging stations are in the top three in six out of seven countries - no other provider can do that. In the Netherlands, Tesla's superchargers even take first place, but in neighboring Belgium they only come in fifth place. Unfortunately, the Chargemap data does not reveal why this difference. In Belgium, EnergyDrive charging stations are the most popular, followed by Electra and Fastned.
In Germany, the LadeverbundPlus charging stations are in first place. This is because, according to users, they offer a reliable infrastructure and high performance. Second place goes to Tesla's Superchargers and third place goes to Ionity, which scores with an extensive infrastructure.
And what is it like in Switzerland?
In Switzerland, provider Fastned takes the crown. The reasons for this are the high reliability and fast charging performance of the charging points. In second place are Tesla's superchargers, which are valued for their constant charging performance and attractive price-performance ratio. With a reliable infrastructure and tailor-made services for its users, BKW Smart Energy & Mobility secured third place.

There are now almost 15,000 public charging points in Switzerland, around 2,500 of which are fast DC chargers that produce between 50 and 350 kilowatts. And the network is to be expanded even further: With the Electromobility 2025 roadmap, the federal government has set the goal of, among other things, being able to offer 20,000 publicly accessible charging points throughout Switzerland.
